Last week I was in California with MVMD’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Azhar Rana, and we had the opportunity to meet with our oncology advisor, Gokul Kannan, at Stanford University.

We toured the Stanford campus and then sat down in an unscripted environment with Gokul to discuss oncology research developments. Stanford has a reputation for being one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions and was an amazing backdrop for our discussion.

Azhar posed some great questions about cancer research, precision medicine, and “the next big things emerging in oncology”.  As a sneak peek, you can check out a one-minute clip recorded from my iPhone of that “emerging” question here.

It is the “emerging space” question that excites our team at MVMD - this relates directly to our mission of “More Life” and imagining a future where we can reduce the devastating impact of cancer.

We are proud to work with Gokul – he truly is a rising star in bioengineering & chemical engineering research. His research has focused on drug delivery, biomaterials, tissue engineering & regenerative medicine, and physical & medicinal chemistry/chemical engineering. Recently, his work has focused on studying using biomaterials and computational biology to study microglia, glioblastoma & cancer biology, and tissue engineering, with numerous publications in press or under review and multiple cover articles in prominent journals.
